Acts of God and Candidates

It is not part of my spiritual make-up to believe that God “punishes” anyone. Or any political party. Or its denizens. That being said, I do think it’s pretty thought-provoking that the Dem Nash Con was met with sunshiny days and warm nights in Denver — a great place for 80,000 folks to gather in an open-air stadium and hear something inspiring. And, by contrast, the Repub Nash Con is going to take place during a cataclysm. A Katrina-esque cataclysm.

Please know that I don’t want anyone in Louisiana or Mississippi to suffer. But how interesting that something specifically reminiscent of how a Republican government so cavalierly let Americans suffer is likely to happen during Republican Gloat ‘n’ Judge Week.

I think a certain religious wing of a certain party better think twice before they start condemning anybody else’s values, is all I’m sayin’.

(But if that Tina Fey girl wants to open her yap and talk about how much she loves guns and hates abortions and gay people, she should go right ahead. Being new to the Haters’ Ball,  for her it’s kinda like a debutante’s coming out. Not that kind of coming out. She’s not a sinner.)
