Multiple Personality

That was really a cop-out, Toothy.

I don’t usually post after the Results show, but this couldn’t go without saying.

First of all, Robert is NOT not growing…that was patent bullshit, and one of the many ways the judges were just covering their asses tonight for their cowardice.

Second of all, you can’t tell Billy that he has had a week off and can come back to compete again more rested than everybody else — and then let him come back and compete against everybody else. If there was some sort of logic Nigel was trying to convey with that crap, it was utterly lost.

As I hinted at above, this was just a riotous amount of cowardice on the judges’ parts. They didn’t want to send Billy home because he’s a talented dancer and has a large tween following. And nobody knows quite what to make of the diva thing he pulled, not being willing to dance after the doctors cleared him. (I realize that doctors don’t know everything, but this whole thing has seemed peculiar from the moment it was announced.)

They didn’t want to send Jose home either, because he is sooo beloved. The fact that he can’t do the dances anymore doesn’t seem to make that much of a difference to these judges any longer.

It is annoying to hear all that hogwash spew out of Nigel’s mouth, when the real truth clearly wasn’t being said. The best I can guess: Somebody didn’t like the precedent it would send by sending Billy home, somebody loves Jose too much, and somebody, apparently wanted Robert out of there — which may have been the reason for the standoff. If that’s the case, and Robert would have been eliminated by a majority, then Nigel probably did the right thing. That guy shouldn’t be eliminated, and it’s an utter mystery why he’s not getting more votes than Adechike.

I’m just annoyed. Credibility is waning, and so is my patience. I guess I’ll just be watching this as a series of dance performances from now on, and enjoy as much of Kent, Robert, Lauren, Lauren, Neal, Mark, Allison and Kathryn as I get to see. And forget all about this “competition,” thing anyway. That actually sounds good. What is it about us Americans that everything is about “winning”? There’s great talent on that stage, and art isn’t a competition. And since these people clearly don’t know how to run a competition, why don’t we all just stop viewing it as one?

End of rant. Bring on the dancing boys.
